Slush flows are a rare but dangerous type of avalanche that can occur in Norway’s Arctic regions. They can take place on gentle slopes and carry cars, mud and debris for long distances. Now researchers of the IMPETUS project develop hazard maps and real-time forecasts for slush flows. This will help save lives and protect roads in the future.
